It may not have been pretty for the Vols against South Carolina, but Tennessee got it done against the Gamecocks, their third straight win of three points or less against South Carolina.
Many Tennessee fans have viewed the close win as a step backwards, but the Vols did get a win against an SEC team when they were having an off day, a sign of a good team.
This week, the Vols (5-4, 3-3 SEC) will get a break from SEC play, with a game against struggling North Texas of Conference USA, before their final two games against Missouri and Vanderbilt.
